Day 30 - 16th March

Today we had a relaxed start ie. late start. We headed to the market to start with, to discover it is closed on Mondays. So then we went to Victoria Square and caught the free bus to the North Terrace. We had a chat with a friendly Australian on the way, he was interested about our travels and told us some stuff about Adelaide and the areas of the city. We got off at the botanical gardens and had a really nice walk around them. They were really well laid out with some nice areas including a meditarinean garden and a lilly house. The lillies were huge! There was also the largest green house in the southern hemisphere although we didn't go in, we'd seen enough plants by then!

We found a really nice noodle and rice place for lunch, they did a good lunch time deal and the food was great, kinda like Wagamams but you don't have to sit on a bench.

We then headed for the museums, the first one was the museum of southern australia which had a lot of aboriginal stuff in it. A man started talking to me and he seem to have quite a grudge against the English. Luckily he didn't talk for long. The museum also had the standard stuffed animals and dinosaur bones.

We then went to the migration museum, which to be honest I found a bit strange. I come out unsure of it's purpose really, they seemed to have a few issues with the immigration laws from the early half of the 20th century, which perhaps weren't fair but I wasn't quite sure what their point was.

By this time I was all museumed out so we had a look round some shops although we didn't buy anything before going to Dominos pizza for our dinner.

Headed back to the hostel fairly early so we can get ready for tomorrows adventure to Kangaroo Island. We should hopefully be learning to surf in the morning and seeing some good wildlife in the afternooon. We are staying on the island for 2 nights so we might not be able to post blogs and send emails for a couple of days but rest assured we will keep writing and just send it all off when next get email acess.
